MR WORLD 2019

Mister World 2019, the tenth edition of the Mister World competition, was held on 23rd August 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Mr World England, Jack Heslewood, from Bishop Stortford has won the coveted title of Mr World 2019 to become the ‘World’s most desirable man’.

Presented by Philippine actress, model, television presenter and former Miss World Megan Young and TV personality Mikael Daez, the grand finale was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, one of Asia’s largest indoor arenas.

MR WORLD 2019 TALENT

Top Talent is one of the Mr World fast track events, with the winner guaranteed a place in the top 12 at Friday’s grand final.

 

The standard of talent this year has been incredibly high as contestants took to the stage to impress the judges with performances from singers, traditional dancers to magicians and drums, making it tough for the judges to select the top five, but only one can go through

 

The top five talent performers took to the stage Yesterday, 21st August 2019 to win over the judges with their impressive skills. Amongst the top five were

 

Nigeria with his graceful contemporary dance.

                                              Indonesia with his sleight of hand magic tricks

                                                          England with some impressive drumming

                                                 Netherlands with a Latin American dance performance.

However the winner was Mr World Tonga, Mikaele Ahomana with a rendition of ‘Blessed the broken road’. This is Tonga’s debut at Mr World and he has now guaranteed his place in the Top 12 at the Mr World 2019 Final in Manila, Philippines.

A RECAP OF MR WORLD 2019 CAMP ACTIVITIES

The Mr World Contestants headed to the Bench Flagship store at the BENCH Tower, Bonifacio Global City in Manila. 

Bench is the official partner for this years’ event. To celebrate the arrival of the world’s most desirable men, they were welcomed by Mr Ben Chan, chairman and founder of Suyen Corporation and executive creative director of Bench, who gave the contestants gift vouchers for shopping at the three-storey store. The contestants were also treated to a sumptous lunch at Bench Café.

ISLA DE POTIPOT

The contestants visited “Island de potipot”, a stunning island in the province of Zambales, Philippines and one of the ten most googled beach destinations in the Philippines.It was a 10-minute boat ride and a day of splashing around in the water, football on the beach, volleyball and basketball, followed by lunch in the beautiful surroundings.

CAMP KAINOMAYAN

The Mr World 2019 contestants received a warm welcome by the Honorable Doris Maniquiz-Jeresano, Mayor of Botolan at the Camp Kainomayan in Zambales, a first-class recreational centre for adventure seekers.

Mr World Nepal, Ghana, El Salvador, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Samoa, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Equatorial Guinea and United States

The contestants were involved in some exciting activities like All Terrain Vehicle rides, thrilling paintball war games, zip lining and others.

 

BEACH CLEAN UP

The contestants were also involved in an environmental clean up on a local beach at uacon cove beach in Candelaria, Zambales in order to create public awareness


MR WORLD 2019 CHALLENGE EVENTS; SPORTS AND EXTREME CHALLENGE

While in camp, the contestants have been involved in series of Mr World challenge events;

  • The Sports Challenge &
  • The Extreme Challenge which held at the Victoria Sports Tower, Manila and Special Action Force (SAF) commando training school in Santa Rosa, Laguna respectively.

 

The Sports Challenge is a test of skill, discipline and athleticism and to find out who would be selected to represent their team, each contestant took part in a knockout beep test. This running test is used to estimate an athlete’s aerobic capacity. In the test, the contestants had to run from one line to another before a timed beep. Contestants who didn’t cross the line before the beep were excluded until there were just six candidates left from each team. With the teams decided, they were put through their paces in a series of Swimming, Basketball and Shuttle Run challenges.

From the Yellow team the Netherlands, Mauritius, Luxembourg, Peru, Paraguay and Kenya to level 11 with Malta and Nigeria in reserve.

 

After a number of gruelling challenges that really tested the strength, endurance and mental ability of the contestants, the winner of Mr World 2019 Sports Challenge was South Africa. Fezile Mkhize, who works as a doctor now gets a fast track through to the grand final and a guaranteed place in the top 12  on Friday 23 August at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Extreme Challenge is one of the Mr World fast track events.  This year the boys headed to the Special Action Force (SAF) commando training school in Santa Rosa, Laguna to face their toughest test of physical strength and endurance. The action kicked off with a briefing from the commandos of the elite unit of the Philippine National Police.

Then split into their respective teams – red, yellow, green and blue it was off to face the Slalom, Tyre Challenge and Sack Race against the clock.

MR WORLD 2019 PRESS CONFERENCE

This year’s contest is set to be the biggest and most successful event in the history of the competition. Contestants from across the globe will compete in a three-week once-in-a-lifetime experience, as they battle it out to discover who should be declared ‘The world’s most desirable man’.

In a series of Mr World challenge events, contestants will test their physical and mental endurance:

  • The Extreme Challenge will put contestants through their paces at the intensive Special Action Force (SAF) commando training school in Santa Rosa, Laguna province. Living in tents, the contestants will face their toughest test of physical strength and endurance
  • The Sports Challenge is a test of skill, discipline and athleticism
  • Talent & Creativity is about a contestants finesse, technique and their dedication as they take to the stage to impress the judges
  • Fashion looks at the men getting it right in the style stakes
  • Multimedia looks at their charisma and how contestants present themselves and how they engage and interact with an online audience

Reigning Mr World, Rohit Khandelwal will be on stage at the final to pass over his reign as the ‘World’s most desirable man’ to his successor, Mr World 2019.

 

The live event will be broadcast to a global audience. A full list of broadcasters will be published and for the first-time fans will have the ability to watch the action unfold on pay per view on the Mr World website.

MR WORLD 2019; Nelson Enwerem arrive in Manila for Mr World 2019

This year’s Mr World contestants arrived in Manila, Philippines. The final takes place on Friday 23 August at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, one of Asia’s largest indoor arenas.
